2. Scope
This policy applies to:
- TrueSella on WhatsApp (messages, flows, and bot interactions)
- The TrueSella web portal at https://app.truesella.com
- Our marketing website and landing pages
- Related admin and support tools operated by Taskit Technology Limited
It does not apply to third-party websites or services you reach through links we provide (for example, WhatsApp, Instagram, or payment providers).
3. Information we collect
Depending on how you use TrueSella, we may collect:
- Contact information: WhatsApp phone number, display name (if shared by Meta), and phone numbers you provide for sign-in or OTP verification on the web portal.
- Lookup and activity data: vendor search queries (phone numbers, Instagram handles, bank account names), lookup timestamps, review submissions, referral link usage, and conversation state.
- Vendor verification data: business name, Instagram handle, bank account name, and identity verification information submitted during KYC (NIN or BVN, your choice). These identifiers are processed for verification purposes, stored only as hashes, and are not stored in WhatsApp chat history.
- Referral and payout data: referral codes, referral status, wallet balance, and bank account details you provide to claim referral rewards.
- Technical data: IP address, device/browser type, session identifiers, cookies, server logs, and OTP audit records.
- Content you submit: review ratings, optional receipt images for verification, and support messages.
4. How we use your information
We use personal data to:
- Provide vendor lookup, trust scores, reviews, and referral features
- Verify vendor identity and reduce fraud
- Authenticate you on the web portal (password sign-in; WhatsApp OTP for account setup or password reset)
- Process referral rewards and bank payouts where applicable
- Improve the Service, monitor performance, and prevent abuse
- Respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations
- Send service-related messages (for example, OTP codes, referral updates, or verification status)
We do not sell your personal data.
5. Legal basis (Nigeria)
We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR). Depending on the activity, our bases include your consent, performance of a contract, legitimate interests (such as fraud prevention and service security), and compliance with law.
6. Third-party services
We use trusted partners to operate TrueSella, including:
- Meta / WhatsApp: messaging, webhooks, and encrypted flows
- Identity verification providers (such as QoreID): BVN and KYC checks
- Payment providers (such as Paystack): bank account verification and transfers
- SMS providers (such as Termii): OTP delivery when WhatsApp is unavailable
- Hosting and infrastructure providers: servers, databases, and caching
These providers process data only as needed to deliver their services to us and under appropriate contractual safeguards.
7. Cookies and sessions
The web portal uses cookies and similar technologies to maintain secure login sessions, remember preferences, and protect against abuse. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not work without them.
8. Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution requirements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it using reasonable technical measures.

We use administrative, technical, and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections, access controls, rate limiting, and secure handling of verification data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
